When your colleagues are robots: Getting Ready for the Future of Work


At a recent hotel stay, we called housekeeping and asked for an extra towel. A few minutes later, the hotel staff came up to our door and delivered our request. Yes, the guy in the photo – the R2-like unit, or what the hotel calls a relay robot. The robot Jeno, welcomes guests, rides the elevator on its own, and helps deliver amenities and room service. What struck me most was the conversation I had with the (human) operator who took my request and said “Thank you sir, our robot Jeno will be coming over to you soon.”
